Congratulations to the Belvidere Central Middle School Girls and Boys Cross Country teams on winning the NCJC Championship on Friday night in Dekalb!
The Boys scored 48 points and finished 6 points ahead of Sycamore. It has been 5 years since the Boys Cross Country team has won the NCJC title. The Girls team scored 30 points and finished 26 points ahead of second place Burlington Central. It has been 10 years since the Girls Cross Country team has won the NCJC title. Belvidere Central 7th grader John Noble was the individual champion in the boys 2 mile race, finishing in a personal best time of 11 minutes and 28 seconds. Belvidere Central 8th grader Lilly Binger was the individual champion in the girls 2 mile race, finishing in a personal best time of 12 minutes and 1 second. The Boys and Girls Cross Country team will compete in the IESA Sectional meet on Saturday 10/12 in Sterling. Race time is 1:00.
